  • The best restaurant experience of my life! We had the 5 courses experience but received 9-10 servings with terrific service. A private cozy area, with service as soon as you needed it, but didn’t have to ask for it neither were you being observed while you enjoyed the servings. Food and wine, absolutely stunned! No words. I would recommend it to everyone, even though it is more expensive than other restaurants in the area, the price is almost negligible compared to what you have to pay for a tasting experience like this in bigger cities.

  • Excellent Hospitality overall, Sandrine was very welcoming. Rooms are very nice, large, and comfortable. We definitely recommend as best in Gigondas. 5 course tasting chefs menu was amazing with unparalleled service. Diverse wine list, which is reasonably priced.

  • Memorable dinner in the heart of Gigondas. L’Oustalet was recommended by 3 local vintners during our wine tasting day, so we decided to give it a try. We were greeted warmly by the sommelier, who speaks multiple languages. We had the classic menu with 4 courses and asked him to pair local wines for us. He did an excellent job, allowing us to taste a number of different wines. The waitstaff was attentive and kind. There are only 6 tables inside, so make a reservation. Our meal started with 2 different amuse buouche items, followed by our starters, main courses, cheese and desserts. After the meal we had a delightful follow up dessert. We were intrigued by the creative presentations of all dishes. The quality of food was excellent, a balance of in season flavors and local dishes. We recommend L’Oustalet and hope to return again soon.

  • What an experience! Such beautiful and comfortable rooms -- seriously, so comfortable! -- and the breakfast was truly magical. The service was above and beyond; the ladies were so friendly, sharp and attentive. Our stay was lovely through and through. The associated restaurant was also an incredible experience. The food was artwork, and the wine pairing opened our taste buds up to a whole new world. So memorable, beautiful, and delicious -- an experience for all of our senses!

  • Over the past few years we have been half a dozen times. This May the meal seemed better than ever. Beautifully balanced flavours and textures, and loved the Spring ingredients and lightness of the cooking - asparagus rolled in zatar, artichokes with abalone, John Dory in spring vegetables. All done to perfection - including perfectly matched, wonderful wines. Great service - everyone so enthusiastic, knowledgeable and clearly proud to be working there. (And speaking very impressive English too!) Looking forward very very much to our next visit!

  • Ate a 3 hour lunch today at this one Michelin star restaurant in the heart of Gigondas. Excellent food, service and atmosphere! We had the fixed price lunch starting off with two amuse bouche, a fish with lemon and honey, and an eggplant over buffalo mozzarella. The entree was a tomato over a mix of vegetables and pine nuts with a bright citrusy taste. Mains were a smoked filet with a side of charred lettuce with a bit of sardines and mullet with an onion side. All the dishes were excellent and plates were licked clean! A cheese course with Comte and black olive tapenade and goat cheese with honey along with their excellent bread was next. Dessert was roasted figs with fig preserve and a fig ice cream covered with a rosemary touille cookie. Finished with espresso and Gigondas Marc liquor. All was accompanied by a red and a white Gigondas picked by the sommelier to match the food. Service was attentive but not hovering and the decor was tasteful and beautiful. The tomato entree for example was served in a hollowed rock the size and weight of a cannonball. Wished we lived close by to make this our regular haunt.
